Our first seder, part II

Everything turned out pretty well. The charoses was crisp and sweet. The matzah balls floated. The kugel was a bit soggy, but tasty. The broccoli almondine was spectacular. The brisket was bursting with flavor, if a bit tough. The flourless chocolate cake was a bit crumbly, but rich and gooey and delish. We went through six fabulous bottles of wine and a big bottle of beer in six hours. It was great to be with good friends — our surrogate family — to start a new tradition for Passover. We couldn’t have asked for a better evening.

It isn’t a Seder without tough brisket. A Loeb family tradition!
